Her ürün aynı disiplinle ilerler.

Ürünlerin güncel durumu her zaman Ar-Ge sayfasında.

We test our engineering approach on our own products first. The methods we recommend to our clients (starting with a specification, moving in small and measurable steps, recording each decision with its rationale) are the ones we apply while building our own products at Qhira Labs.

This is the first Labs note: how our R&D works, why our products carry code names and which stages a product goes through. New products and major updates are announced here first, on Qhira Insights.

Why is R&D inside the studio?

A studio having its own products gives two things. The first is proof: we live an architecture, an automation approach or a working discipline in our own product before we recommend it; what works and what does not is our own experience. The second is depth: building a product over a long time makes visible the problems that one-off projects never show (maintenance, releases, user feedback, data growth).

There is also a limit, and it is deliberate: our products never come before our advice. Our recommendations are not tied to any solution, including our own products.

A studio without its own product describes its method; a studio with its own product shows it.

Why do the products carry code names?

We name our products with a code language built from Latin roots. The pattern is fixed: "Q/" and a Latin word describing what the product does. Q/MENS means mind, Q/NORMA measure and rule, Q/MOTUS motion. Q is the signature of our corporate identity.

The code language serves three purposes. The products read as members of one family; when a new product arrives the naming debate does not start over; and each name is distinctive within a pattern tied to Qhira. Versions are tracked with Roman numerals (such as Q/MOTUS II).

Which stages does a product go through?

We write stages, not dates, for our products, because a product moves to the next stage when it is ready, not according to a calendar:

  • Experimental: Internal work where an idea is tried out; it is not shown on the site and is announced once it reaches product maturity.
  • In development: The product's core functions are being built; the waitlist is open. Q/MOTUS (a visual, video and content production platform) is at this stage.
  • Closed beta: The product is used in real work with a limited number of organizations; access is assessed on qualified request. Q/MENS (an LLM-supported cognitive operations management system) and Q/NORMA (a spec-driven software orchestration platform) are at this stage.
  • Open access: The product is offered so that anyone can apply.
Moving from one stage to the next is not a date but a proof.

Why is the closed beta closed?

The closed beta is the period when the product works in a real business setting, with the organization's own data and processes. That is why we assess each request individually for capacity and fit: whether the product really answers that organization's need, where the data will be kept (on premises, on the company's own servers, when needed; otherwise on a dedicated server for that organization) and the time to be set aside together with the organization. Working deeply with a few organizations produces more accurate feedback than working superficially with many.

How do we build?

Every product follows the same discipline. Work starts with a specification: what will be built, why, and how we will know it was built correctly is written down. Development follows that specification and every step is checked against it. We described the spec-driven development approach in a separate article; Q/NORMA is that approach turned into a product.

From now on, Labs notes will cover major changes in the products, stage transitions and what we learn during development. The current status of the products is always on the Labs page.
