Bir hukuk bürosunu düşünün. On yıllık içtihat kararları, sözleşme şablonları, müvekkil yazışmaları, uzman görüşleri: bunların tamamı farklı klasörlerde, farklı formatlarda, farklı kişilerin bilgisayarlarında dağınık halde duruyor.

Think of a law firm. Ten years of case law, contract templates, client correspondence, expert opinions: all scattered across different folders, different formats, different people's computers. When a new case opens, the lawyer spends hours navigating this archive; more often than not, recreating knowledge that already exists.
RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solves exactly this problem. In enterprise knowledge management, it turns the archive into a knowledge layer that cites its sources.
What is RAG?
Traditional language models are limited by their training data. After training, they can't be updated and can't access company-specific knowledge. RAG overcomes this limitation: instead of retraining the model, it retrieves relevant knowledge from the company's own archives at query time and provides it to the model as context.
The process works in three steps:
- Indexing: All of the company's documents, PDFs, Word files, emails, databases, are converted to vector form and ingested into a knowledge store.
- Retrieval: When a user asks a question, the system finds semantically related documents.
- Generation: The model produces a response enriched with the retrieved documents as context. The source of the answer is clear; it is easier to verify and the risk of fabricated answers is reduced.
"RAG doesn't give the model memory. It ensures the model looks at the right document at the right moment."
What changes in enterprise knowledge management?
Traditional knowledge management tools, wikis, intranets, document management systems, search but don't understand. If you search for "contract," you get all documents containing that word; the system won't tell you which contract is relevant to your situation.
A RAG-based system, on the other hand, can do this: "Summarize the penalty clause in the service agreement we signed with this client in 2023, and show how it's been interpreted in similar cases." The answer comes from the company's own archive, with sources shown.
Search finds the document; RAG brings the answer with its source.
Which sectors benefit most?
- Law: Case research, contract analysis, precedent comparison
- Architecture: Specification management, regulation tracking, project archive queries
- Finance & accounting: Regulatory updates, client portfolio history, reporting
- Media & publishing: Content archives, source research, editorial history
Technical infrastructure: what's needed?
Vector store: Tools like Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector (PostgreSQL extension). Stores vector representations of documents and enables fast semantic search.
Embedding model: The model that converts text to vectors. OpenAI, Cohere or open-source alternatives can be used.
Orchestration layer: Frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex or custom pipelines. Manages the search → context building → model call → response flow.
How do we apply it at Qhira?
Our enterprise knowledge systems (RAG) work, part of Agentic Solution, assesses the company's existing knowledge assets, determines the right vector store strategy, and builds a production-ready RAG pipeline. The sector-specific knowledge layer of Q/MENS is also built on this infrastructure.
The result: the knowledge an organization has built up over the years no longer waits in folders; it can be asked, with its source.
